Two weeks ago, this horse ran poorly in a dirt trial over 1200m, jumping slowly and settling towards the rear with an even pace but showing no finishing kick. He finished well-beaten. In a subsequent Happy Valley turf trial over 1200m, he benefits from a two-pound weight reduction. The timing compared to other horses in the group is reasonable, giving him a chance to lead early. Although he has failed to place in three previous runs at this distance, his current barrier draw is favorable and a clean break with an intent to lead should see improvement.
