On May 23rd, a turf trial over 1000m at Conghua saw the horse lacking early speed, needing to chase the leaders from behind. On May 13th, an 800m turf trial at Conghua was fluent and responsive when asked to quicken the pace. Three months ago, this horse performed well in a Happy Valley 1200m race, jumping slowly but settling towards the rear before making a mid-race move to chase the leaders. Following a short break, two barrier trials were undertaken but didn’t meet expected progress. Another trial over 1200m on Sha Tin turf this time with a four-pound weight reduction and an outside draw. The plan is to settle towards the rear, however, the finishing kick may not be strong enough against rivals; while the group's overall time was decent, trainer and jockey appear to have good communication and no obvious tactics are apparent.
