On May 30th, a turf trial over 1600m at Conghua saw the horse settle comfortably with light urging, running steadily. Four weeks ago, in a Sha Tin 1400m race, it performed reasonably well, jumping slowly and settling towards the rear but finishing strongly. A recent barrier trial showed acceptable form. This will be its debut over 1600m on turf, carrying a one-pound weight reduction. It is expected to settle back in the field, however, the finishing kick may not match rivals. The trainer-jockey combination isn’t ideal, though the step up in distance should suit. Lyle Hewitsin takes the ride, demonstrating some understanding of the horse's capabilities; a longshot could be worth considering.
