On March 13th, during a Conghua turf trial over 1200m (recorded times of 1-1-3), the horse jumped out quickly and settled comfortably in a good position tracking the leaders with remaining energy. Five weeks ago, in a similar race over the same distance, performance was poor; it tracked the pace but lacked a finishing kick. A recent barrier trial didn’t show particularly impressive form. For this race, the horse has a 4lb weight reduction and boasts six wins from twenty-six starts at this distance, making it a strong contender for an early lead. The barrier draw is favorable, with Jerry Chau taking the ride – he has some familiarity with the horse. Trackwork has been positive, despite not showing great times in group workouts, and while trainer/jockey combination isn't ideal, a clean break should allow it to secure a forward position and finish among the leaders.
