CHARMING LEGEND

On June 12th (dirt trial 1200m: 6-6-6), the horse rounded the bend smoothly with a moderate performance. On May 9th (Happy Valley turf trial 1200m: 8-7-2) it weaved into second position, displaying an attractive stride. Eight weeks ago, in a Sha Tin 1400m race, it ran moderately, breaking slowly and settling towards the back before making a mid-race effort but failing to close the gap. Following a short break, two barrier trials showed slight improvement. Switching to Happy Valley over 1200m for its debut at this distance, the horse benefits from a six-pound weight reduction, though shortening the trip is not ideal. It has drawn a poor barrier and lacks a strong finishing kick; trainer-jockey combination isn't optimal. Positively, it has shown an ability to track the leaders, which is advantageous with its current positioning. Matthew Poon takes the ride, gaining some understanding of the horse’s capabilities. Pre-race warm-up suggests readiness, and a clean break should allow it to maintain a forward position.
