On June 23rd, a turf trial over 1000m at Conghua saw the horse relaxed and not fully tested. Three weeks prior, over the same distance, it ran respectably, jumping slowly and settling towards the rear with an even pace but finishing strongly to take second place, beaten by just one length. A recent barrier trial performance was acceptable. Stepping up in class this time with an 18lb weight reduction, having previously secured three wins at this distance, its group timing is reasonable. The jockey has been switched to Alexis Badel, a rider known for his good match with the horse and a positive relationship with the trainer. Morning trackwork shows improvement; however, despite drawing an outside barrier, it’s expected to settle towards the rear as finishing kick may not be strong enough compared to rivals, leaving its prospects questionable.
