On June 26th, (dirt trial 1200m: 6-5-3) the horse settled slightly back early on and finished strongly over the final furlong. Three weeks ago in a Happy Valley mile race, it led but faded noticeably to finish fourth, beaten three lengths. A recent barrier trial showed slight improvement. Having lost 22 pounds in body weight, this horse will now step up to Sha Tin over 1400m with a 3-pound weight reduction. Although the overall time of its group isn’t exceptional, drawing a good barrier allows for a potential pace-setting run. The work is sufficient and positive, but finishing speed remains a concern; hoping for a place.
