Six weeks ago, this horse ran poorly over a Sha Tin 1400m, settling in a good position tracking the leaders and attempting to accelerate mid-race but failing to sustain the effort. He has since trialled over 1200m at Sha Tin, benefiting from a two-pound weight reduction. He has previous form over this distance and holds his own against comparable rivals. He is expected to be keen to lead early and draws favorably. Based on relative ability, he appears to be the strongest contender in this race. Harry Bentley takes the ride, with some understanding of the horse’s capabilities. Despite drawing an outside barrier, a poor finishing kick and trainer-jockey mismatch are concerns.
