On June 30th (dirt trial 1200m: 6-6-8), the start was average, pushing forward at the 800m mark and maintaining effort in the final two furlongs without showing significant acceleration. Eight weeks ago over the same distance, the performance was below expectations; settled well tracking the leaders with a mid-race move but failing to extend fully. Finished seventh, beaten three and a half lengths. Following a short break, one barrier trial showed no noticeable improvement. This time needing to carry two pounds more weight, competing against similar times, drawing an inside barrier, likely to be held up for a late run – finishing kick is strong within the group, advantageous positioning. The horse holds a clear advantage in this race; the jockey has some understanding of its capabilities and should not be underestimated.
