On August 30th (Turf trial, 1000m: 9-9-7), urged over the final 300m and showed a reasonable response. This is the horse’s seasonal debut following a turf trial that didn't demonstrate improvement. Dropping in class, he previously ran over a Happy Valley mile, and this time will carry seven pounds more than his last start. Despite having secured two wins at this distance and posting good times with the group, a hold-up tactic is anticipated, relying on a strong finishing kick which is his strongest attribute within the field. The barrier draw is unfavorable, but connections are hoping to finish close to the front. The jockey has some understanding of the horse’s capabilities, and trainer and jockey appear compatible.
