The horse settled in a good position tracking the leaders and quickened during the final two sections, but ultimately finished beaten by two and a half lengths in fifth place. Another turf trial over 1200m followed, and this time benefits from a three-pound weight reduction. He has previous form over this distance, with comparable times to other horses in the same class, and appears capable of leading early. Drawing an advantageous barrier, he possesses a higher level of ability compared to his rivals. The jockey has some familiarity with the horse’s capabilities, but a wide draw is concerning given a potentially weak finishing kick and limited trainer-jockey synergy. A clean break and an intent to lead are key to a forward showing.
