PATCH OF STARS

Six weeks ago, this horse ran below expectations over a Sha Tin 1400m turf track, settling in a good position tracking the leaders with an even pace but lacking a strong finish. He finished sixth, beaten two lengths. A subsequent barrier trial showed slight improvement. Another dirt trial over 1200m (sections 4-3-2) saw him finish second after maintaining a straight course and balance. This time around, he has a one-pound weight reduction, is in a competitive group with similar times, and draws an advantageous inside barrier. Based on his relative strength, he appears to be the strongest contender in this race. Horse and jockey are well matched, showing good form leading up to the event, and capable of hitting the trifecta.
