Ten days ago, over 1200m on the Conghua turf (6-8-5), the horse showed improvement and recovered lost ground. On September 29th, also over 1200m at Conghua (4-4-8), it settled tracking the leaders but was held back in the straight. Prior to that, on August 30th, a turf trial over 1000m saw it fade mid-race and trail off (7-8-11). On June 27th at Conghua (1-1-4), it relaxed comfortably leading and maintained a steady pace. It returns from a long break, making its seasonal debut. Five barrier trials have been completed but fitness levels may not be optimal. Stepping up in class this time with a 13lb weight reduction, despite having two previous wins over this distance, the opposition’s times are reasonable. The horse has the ability to track and potentially lead, drawing an outside barrier is unfavorable due to its tendency to lack a strong finishing kick, therefore a hold-up strategy is recommended.
