Another trial over a Happy Valley 1200m showed limited improvement; he will carry six pounds less weight this time but recorded slow sectionals during the trial and drew a poor barrier. He was forced to settle back in the field, though his finishing kick wasn't strong enough to compete with rivals, making him an unlikely contender in this race.
