COLOURFUL KING

Two weeks ago, this horse ran a respectable race over a Happy Valley sprint, jumping slowly and settling towards the rear. He finished second with a strong late run, beaten by half a length. Another turf trial at Happy Valley over 1200m is scheduled, and this time he benefits from a three-pound weight reduction. Despite a competitive field, his finishing kick is expected to be the strongest in the race. Connections have confidence in each other, and the horse appears well-prepared, though unfortunately drawing a poor barrier which may require him to settle for a trailing position.
