Seven weeks ago, in a race over the same distance, it led but maintained an even pace without a strong finishing kick, finishing second, beaten by one and a half lengths. A subsequent barrier trial yielded no significant improvement. This time, the horse carries only a 1-pound increase in weight, benefits from good timing within its group, is expected to challenge for the lead, and has drawn a favorable barrier. Based on its ability, it's considered the most outstanding contender in this race; trainer and jockey have a good rapport, with gate work added before the race. A clean jump should see it attempt to secure an early leading position.
