On December 22nd, (dirt trial 1200m: 4-5-5) tracked the leader closely and was held back without being fully tested. Five weeks ago over the same distance, this horse performed well despite a slow start, settling towards the rear but finishing with a strong run to secure third place, beaten three and a half lengths. A subsequent barrier trial didn’t show any improvement. This time carrying a four-pound weight reduction, having proven form over this distance, and with good times recorded in the same class, trainer and jockey are working well together. The horse has matured during its recovery period and is showing signs of progress; however, even with an outside barrier draw, a hold-up tactic will be employed as it lacks the finishing kick of its rivals, making its prospects uncertain but not dismissible.
