Ten days ago, this horse showed a reasonable response during a Happy Valley 1700m barrier trial, being urged along the straight. Seven weeks ago in a Happy Valley 1800m race, the performance was poor; a slow jump saw it settle at the rear with an even pace and no finishing kick, resulting in a significant defeat. A subsequent trial did not yield encouraging results. Making its debut after switching stables, it then trialled over 2000m on the Sha Tin turf. This time it will carry three pounds more weight. The horse has failed to win in six attempts at this distance and is up against strong competition. Drawing an outside barrier further compromises its chances; unlikely to feature prominently in this race.
