On February 12th, a dirt trial over 1200m at Conghua saw the horse settle nicely tracking the leaders, showing both early pace and finishing ability. Six weeks prior, in a similar trial at the same distance, it performed poorly; a slow jump meant settling towards the rear with a steady pace but no notable acceleration. A subsequent trial didn’t stand out. This horse is making its Hong Kong debut after a stable transfer, and benefits from a seven-pound weight reduction this time. Having shown positive results over this distance previously, and drawing a favorable barrier, it is expected to race forward. Its finishing kick makes it one of the stronger contenders in this group. Form is looking good, and a jockey change sees Ellis Wong take the reins; he’s known for controlling horses well. Despite differing times within the group and a potentially less cohesive trainer-jockey relationship, a clean start should see it comfortably secure a forward position.
