DAN ATTACK

Three weeks ago, this horse showed promise in a dirt trial over 1000m at Conghua, finishing between fourth and fifth with something left in the tank. Six weeks prior, over the same distance, he delivered an impressive run, jumping slowly but making ground from the back of the field before accelerating strongly in the final two sections to finish second, beaten by half a length. A recent barrier trial performance was not particularly noteworthy. This time benefiting from a one-pound weight reduction, having previously secured three victories over this distance with respectable section times, he is expected to challenge for the lead. Drawing a favorable barrier, his finishing kick appears strong and conditions are advantageous. He's a leading contender in this race, with Harry Bentley taking the ride; horse, jockey and trainer appear well-suited, and a clean break should see him forwardly positioned.
