FATAL BLOW

Three weeks ago in the same race, performance was unsatisfactory; a slow start meant settling towards the rear. The pace increased strongly mid-race, but it was only beaten two and a half lengths for sixth place. This time benefiting from an eight-pound weight reduction, having previously won twice over this distance with good sectionals. An advantageous barrier draw has been assigned, however the overall race shape isn’t ideal and a modest early pace is expected.
