Four weeks ago in this same distance race, the performance was disappointing, settling in a good position tracking the leaders with a steady pace throughout. The time figures were weak and the horse faced unfavorable conditions, lacking a strong finishing kick. There wasn’t a particularly strong rapport between trainer and jockey; even with a three-pound weight reduction, a favorable barrier draw and the ability to settle well, a winning prospect seems unlikely.
