ROMANTIC LAOS

On 2/4, during a dirt trial over 1200m (sections 5-5-7), the horse ran freely tracking the pace. Five weeks ago, this horse delivered an impressive performance in a Happy Valley mile race, settling comfortably behind the leaders with a decent finishing kick and securing third place, beaten by only half a length. A subsequent barrier trial showed it struggling to keep up with the leading pace. Another trial over 1800m at Happy Valley saw it post respectable section times and demonstrate strong late speed within its group; however, despite needing to carry one pound more this time and having failed to win in eleven attempts over this distance, the horse's chances are considered somewhat limited and a supporting role is advised.
