Two weeks ago, this horse ran satisfactorily over a Sha Tin 1400m course, settling in a good position tracking the leaders and finishing within two and a half lengths of the winner. Switching to Happy Valley over 1200m now for its first attempt at this distance, it proved unsuitable; timings were comparable with horses in the same group but lacked a strong final kick. The trainer-jockey combination isn’t particularly cohesive, however, the horse managed to settle well and secured a favorable barrier draw, suggesting no obvious tactical plan is in place.
