Settling towards the rear in a race with average tempo, he produced a strong late surge to finish second, beaten only 1.5 lengths while carrying a light weight. Despite an unfavorable wide draw and a lack of overwhelming finishing power, his sectional times were quite impressive. Given his improving form, he remains a major contender for a placing in this race.
