Two months ago, he ran poorly over a Happy Valley sprint; slow to jump out and settled towards the rear with an even pace, gradually closing in in the final stages. A recent trial showed no improvement. Another attempt over 1200m on Happy Valley turf saw him disadvantaged in the group and settled towards the rear; his finishing kick may not match his rivals. The jockey and trainer are not yet in perfect sync, but the 12-pound weight allowance this time makes him worth watching.
