Five weeks ago, the horse ran a very disappointing race over a short distance on Happy Valley turf; he was slow to jump out, tracked the pace throughout, maintaining an even speed but with a lackluster run. In his subsequent Happy Valley 1200m trial, he carried four pounds less this time, showing a decent time and drawing a good barrier. Despite not having an ideal race setup or strong jockey-trainer synergy, he tracked the pace and showed the most powerful finishing kick in his field, still capable of contending for a place.
