On 10/4, he ran a turf barrier trial over 1200m (positioning: 2-2-3), holding second place on the lead and maintaining the pace under urging. Six weeks ago, he ran in a similar race and performed poorly, settling well forward with an even pace throughout. His run was unremarkable, but thankfully he wasn't far behind, finishing beaten three and a half lengths. After a trial barrier run, he showed slight improvement. He will carry an extra pound in this race, and his late acceleration was somewhat less impressive; the partnership between jockey and trainer hasn't shown outstanding synergy. However, given his ability to take the lead and his proven form over this distance, he must be kept in mind.
