Fourteen days ago, this horse ran reasonably well over 1800m on Sha Tin turf. He was slow to break, settled back in the field, maintained a steady pace, and gradually closed in on the final stretch. Fortunately, he was not far behind, finishing only two and a half lengths off—indicating a high standard. Now stepping up in class, he tried 2400m on Sha Tin turf for the first time; this race requires an extra six pounds, and the distance does not suit him. His closing speed was somewhat inferior, and there is no strong synergy between the jockey and trainer; high expectations are unwarranted.
