VERMILION TEMPEST

Eleven days ago, this horse had a decent performance over a Happy Valley mile; he was slow coming out of the stalls, tracking from behind with an even pace throughout, gradually closing in in the final stages. Switching to Sha Tin over 1800m for his debut at this distance, the trip was not well suited, and his time indicator was weak, giving him a slight disadvantage. The jockey and trainer do not seem particularly in sync; however, he tracked from the rear where his finishing kick was the strongest in the field and he drew a good barrier, though he didn't get an opportunity to show it.
