RAGING BLIZZARD

On May 22nd, the horse ran a dirt trial over 1200m (8-9-9), staying on the outside and tracking steadily. In his previous dirt trial over 1200m on May 12th (6-5-6), he showed strong late acceleration on the straight. Five weeks ago, running in the same race, his performance was excellent; despite a slow start and staying off the pace initially, he accelerated strongly in the middle stages and chased hard over the final two sections on the straight to secure second place. After two subsequent barrier trials, no improvement was noted. Entering this race, he will carry nine pounds more, putting him at a disadvantage, and the jockey-trainer combination is not ideal. Fortunately, when competing in the rear, his finishing kick was the sharpest in the field; with four wins from fifteen starts, he is not hopeless.
