On May 29th, he made a barrier trial over 1200m on Sha Tin turf (6-6-2), driving hard and closing in, followed by a trial on May 11th over 1000m at Sha Tin turf (7-7-6) where he settled behind without a real test. Five months ago, in the same race, his performance was excellent; though he jumped out slowly and ran from the rear with an average pace, he steadily closed in towards the end to finish as runner-up, beaten only half a length. Having completed two further barrier trials and showing slight improvement, he will carry an extra pound in this race. Having lost all six previous starts, the current prospects are not particularly favorable due to a poor draw and a lack of outstanding finishing kick. However, his timing indicators are acceptable and he has been serious in preparation, which warrants caution.
