NORTHERN BEAST

Two weeks ago, this horse ran a disappointing 1800m on dirt; he was slow to get going and settled towards the rear with an average pace, gradually recovering ground in the final stages. In his last Happy Valley mile run, he lacked a prominent finishing kick, and there wasn't a strong synergy between the jockey and trainer. Fortunately, he was able to run near the front; having won three out of seventeen starts, he must be watched.
