BLUE ILLUSION

On 12/6, the horse showed some improvement in a Sha Tin turf barrier trial over 1000m (2-2-1), powering through the middle section to the finish. Five weeks ago, his performance on Happy Valley turf over 1200m was poor; he ran in the rear and showed a weakening finish. The recent trial showed slight improvement. However, another short Happy Valley turf run was disadvantaged by the pace of the group and lacked a standout finishing kick; there doesn't seem to be much synergy between the jockey and trainer. While he has shown merit in training, high expectations should not be placed on him this time.
