YOUNG EMPEROR
Horse analysis
Three weeks ago, this horse performed respectably over 1200m on Sha Tin turf; he was slow coming out of the gate, tracked from behind, accelerated in the middle stages, and pressed on for two furlongs in the straight. He previously ran over 1200m on Happy Valley turf and performed creditably in that race; the group pace was decent, drew an advantageous barrier draw, and settled behind. His finishing kick is arguably the strongest in the field. The jockey seems to have a good understanding of the horse's temperament, although he needs to carry two pounds more weight this time and the overall circumstances are slightly unfavorable, plus his connection with the trainer isn't particularly strong; however, he is still considered a supporting contender in this race.
