SECRET INGREDIENT

Started somewhat slowly in the 10/9 Sha Tin dirt trial over 1050m (running positions: 4-5-3), responded strongly but was only average, finishing fourth. In the 4/9 Sha Tin turf trial over 1000m (running positions: 10-10-7), he pressed hard and tracked the leaders closely. Returning after a long layoff, this is his first run of the season. Previously ran in a Sha Tin 1200m dirt race before April, showing poor form; he maintained a good position tracking the leaders with an even pace throughout but made no headway. Having completed two trial runs, there has been slight improvement. Shifting to Happy Valley for a shorter distance, this is his first attempt at this trip. He needs to carry five pounds more in this race, and the distance is not ideal. With a time gap within his group and no outstanding finishing kick, the jockey and trainer's coordination is not ideal. His only advantage is his ability to take an early run and draw a good barrier, making high expectations difficult.
