4/9 (Sha Tin turf trial 1000m: 5-6-3) started to quicken in the half-way section, steadily advancing. 2/7 (Sha Tin dirt trial 1200m: 2-2-7) pressed near the leaders but dramatically dropped off when quickened. Returning after a long layoff, this is his first run of the season. Last April, he ran over 1200m on Happy Valley turf and performed poorly, with a slow break and trailing in the run; his closing speed weakened significantly, resulting in a heavy defeat. He has had two recent trial runs and shown slight improvement. Having run three consecutive races unsuccessfully over short distances on Happy Valley turf, his chances are somewhat limited and drawing positions are not ideal. If he continues to race from the rear, his late kick may not match that of his rivals, and the jockey-trainer combination is not ideal. However, given his time indicators are still acceptable and his morning work shows promise, he may not be entirely without a chance.
