On 17/9, in a dirt trial over 1050m (positioning: 4-4-3), the horse ran calmly on the outside. In a turf trial over 1000m (positioning: 10-9-2) on 30/8, the horse sought cover early before smoothly moving forward. This is an early start to the season; three weeks ago, in a race at the same course, it performed exceptionally well. Despite a slow start and tracking from behind during its run, it gradually recovered some ground in the closing stages to win. Having completed two further trials, there has been slight improvement. Moving up in class, the horse receives a two-pound weight allowance this time. Having won twice previously, its timing suggests competitive ability; when running from behind in a pace battle, it still possesses considerable stamina.
