On September 22nd, the horse ran a dirt trial over 1200m (8-7-2), holding back until the final section, moving out on the turn, and surging to second place with a burst of speed around the 200m mark. In their September 2nd dirt trial over 1200m (5-6-6), the horse responded well when urged on in the final stages. This is its first outing this season; three weeks ago, in a race with the same horse, it delivered a disappointing effort, running close to the rear throughout at a steady pace with no notable movement, resulting in a heavy defeat. Having trialled twice since, there has been slight improvement. Despite being defeated in its last three races, the finishing kick is slightly lacking, and there isn't a particularly strong synergy between jockey and trainer; however, its ability to settle close to the pace and its time figures remaining acceptable suggest that a lack of performance is not surprising.
