After arriving at the Start, LUCKY RED had an adjustment made to its left front plate. LUCKY RED was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. GALACTIC TACTIC began awkwardly, bumped the inside gate of its stall, then despite being ridden along failed to muster speed. From wide barriers, in the early stages, MAMMA MIA and TREASURE RAIDERS were taken back. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, HAPPY WIN was steadied away from the heels of ENCHANTED which was checked to avoid the heels of BULLISH GOLD which was racing keenly and was checked to avoid the heels of LUCKY RED (Y T Cheng) which steadied the tempo as it crossed to the lead. Y T Cheng was advised against steadying the tempo of races in such a manner when crossing to the lead. Passing the 400 Metres, MAMMA MIA was steadied away from the heels of ACHILLES OF TROY. In the run to the line, FIRST BEAT got its head on the side and hung in, then just prior to the winning post was steadied when improving close to the heels of LUCKY RED. Throughout the race, MASTER GREEN travelled wide and without cover. When questioned regarding the poor performance of ACHILLES OF TROY, O Doleuze said his mount was very relaxed prior to the race today and then throughout the race felt “flat”. ACHILLES OF TROY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of ACHILLES OF TROY after the race did not show any significant findings. HEARTLINE and BULLISH GOLD were sent for sampling.
