Steward Report Predict Pace Map
While in the holding stables, KING ENCOSTA had its left hind foot replated. KING ENCOSTA was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. BOUNCER was slow to begin. WEI HAI INVINCIBLE began awkwardly. After the 800 Metres, BOUNCER was hampered and carried wider by ANKH MORPORK which became unbalanced when being steadied away from the heels of KING ENCOSTA. At the 150 Metres, BROM BROM was bumped by SURVEY SURVEY which when giving ground shifted in. Over about the final 100 Metres, BROM BROM was not able to obtain clear running and because of this was not fully tested. Apprentice K C Leung (FLUKE) explained in a discussion with Trainer L Ho prior to the race, he suggested the horse would be best suited being taken back at the start from its wide barrier. He said he felt if FLUKE was ridden to go forward, it would be left racing wide and probably without cover. He said Mr Ho agreed that in the circumstances it would be acceptable for FLUKE to be ridden quietly in tonight’s race. Apprentice Leung said when ridden in this manner tonight, FLUKE closed the race off strongly. ANKH MORPORK was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of ANKH MORPORK after the race did not show any significant findings. BROM BROM, INTERCHINA STAR and WHITE JADE were sent for sampling. <25/6/2009 Additional Veterinary Reports> ANKH MORPORK, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. ANKH MORPORK was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer D J Hall this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, ANKH MORPORK will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
