JUNGLE TREASURE began awkwardly. LIVERBIRD and SUPER IDEAL were slow to begin. Making the first turn, KIMBERLEY was taken out by SUPREME COMMANDER which shifted away from the fence. After this, KIMBERLEY was left racing wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. Near the 650 Metres, CHEERFUL HAPPINESS was steadied away from the heels of KIMBERLEY. When questioned, J Lloyd stated that in the Straight SUPER IDEAL was making up steady ground until about the 100 Metres when its stride shortened appreciably and the horse, which had a tendency to lay in, then hung in quite badly. He said as he was concerned regarding the abrupt manner in which SUPER IDEAL shortened stride, he then eased the horse down over the concluding stages. Before being allowed to race again, SUPER IDEAL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of DECENT FELLOW, SUPER IDEAL and KIMBERLEY after the race did not show any significant findings. DIVINE KID and HO WONGCHOY were sent for sampling.
