At the start, POLYGOLD was checked and GOLD CITY badly hampered when crowded for room between GORGEOUS RULER and AIPODER IMAGE, both of which shifted ground. MORE THAN YOU WISH was slow to begin and shortly after the start was steadied away from the heels of STAR OF CHIU TON. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, GOLD CITY shifted in and bumped MORE THAN YOU WISH, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced. Passing the 1000 Metres, CENTURY MOLLY was checked away from the heels of ALWAYS AHEAD. STAR OF CHIU TON and SUPER GALILEO, which were following, were hampered in consequence. Rounding the Home Turn, CENTURY MOLLY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of ALWAYS AHEAD. For the majority of the race, SUPREME GOLD travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of MORE THAN YOU WISH after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of MORE THAN YOU WISH, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, MORE THAN YOU WISH will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that ALWAYS AHEAD had sustained a cut to its right hind tendon and had lost its left hind plate. Before being allowed to race again, ALWAYS AHEAD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SUPER GALILEO and STAR OF CHIU TON were sent for sampling.
