As the start was effected, LUCKY NISTELROOY reared and consequently lost a considerable amount of ground. Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY NISTELROOY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. Shortly after the start, SUNNY SMILES and CLOVIS were crowded for room between SUPREME YEARS and GORGEOUS RULER which shifted in after being bumped by GOLDEN BOY which itself shifted ground after being bumped by FANTASTISCH which at the start got its head on the side and shifted in abruptly despite the efforts of its rider, M Guyon. Also shortly after the start, INCREDIBLE EAGLE became unbalanced when bumped by DRAGON BOY which shifted out. After this, INCREDIBLE EAGLE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SUPREME YEARS. Passing the 1400 Metres, GORGEOUS RULER raced in restricted room between WAIT FOR ME and DRAGON BOY which was taken in slightly by SUPREME YEARS. When being steadied, GORGEOUS RULER shifted in slightly, resulting in INCREDIBLE EAGLE being crowded for room. For some distance passing the 1100 Metres, LUCKY NISTELROOY proved difficult to settle and shifted out when being restrained away from the heels of CLOVIS which itself was awkwardly placed close to the heels of DRAGON BOY. When LUCKY NISTELROOY shifted out, SUNNY SMILES was taken wider. After this, LUCKY NISTELROOY continued to prove difficult to settle. Passing the 600 Metres, ESPERANZA was checked when crowded for room between WAIT FOR ME which shifted out when being checked away from the heels of PROSPERITY KID and SUPREME YEARS (G Mossé) which shifted in. DRAGON BOY, which was following ESPERANZA, was checked in consequence. G Mossé was reprimanded and advised that whilst there was some circumstances to this incident, he nonetheless should ensure that he leaves sufficient racing room for runners to his inside in future. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, PROSPERITY KID was steadied away from the heels of GOLDEN BOY. For some distance after the 600 Metres, WAIT FOR ME was checked away from the heels of PROSPERITY KID. In the Straight, SUPREME YEARS got its head on the side and hung in. For the majority of the race, SUPREME YEARS travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of DRAGON BOY, which finished tailed out, after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of DRAGON BOY was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, DRAGON BOY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of GOLDEN BOY after the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, GOLDEN BOY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that SUPREME YEARS had bled from both nostrils. WAIT FOR ME, CLOVIS and FANTASTISCH were sent for sampling.
