After being mounted in the Parade Ring, PENGLAI XIANZI became fractious and attempted to buck, dislodging M Chadwick, its rider. M Chadwick was uninjured. After being boxed, BRIGHT TOUCH became fractious, lunged forward and broke through the front gate of its stall, dislodging Y T Cheng, its rider. BRIGHT TOUCH completed the course riderless before being recaptured. Acting on the advice of the Veterinary Officer that BRIGHT TOUCH was not suitable to race, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the horse. Before being allowed to race again, BRIGHT TOUCH will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Y T Cheng was uninjured. Also after being boxed, SUPER PEPPER and MALAYAN BRIGHT became very fractious. Before being allowed to race again, SUPER PEPPER and MALAYAN BRIGHT will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. WIN WIN, which was standing badly, was slow to begin. HEALTHY BLUEBERRY began awkwardly and lost ground. When being eased down following the race, ROYAL FLUSH whipped around, causing O Doleuze, its rider, to be dislodged. O Doleuze was uninjured. ROYAL FLUSH, MALAYAN BRIGHT and PENGLAI XIANZI were sent for sampling.
