STAY YOUNG was withdrawn on 6.3.09 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter MEGABUCKS (B Doyle). Before being allowed to race again, STAY YOUNG will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. COVER BOY was slow into stride and in the Straight hung out. SPEEDY GROWTH began awkwardly. In the early and middle stages, FOREVER SUPPORT travelled wide and without cover. In the middle stages, STALLION SUPREME hung out. After the 200 Metres, MAMMA MIA was steadied when disappointed for running between WITHALLMYHEART and STAR LEGEND which shifted out. D Beadman (LUCKY BO BO) said he had been instructed to ride the horse which had drawn the outside barrier and was racing first up for six weeks today quietly in the early stages and endeavour to have the horse close the race off. He said LUCKY BO BO had been ridden in a similar manner at its first two race starts, however, when drawn more favourably at its most recent start was ridden more prominently. He said it was felt with the rail being in the C+3 position that should LUCKY BO BO be ridden to go forward, the horse may be left racing wide and without cover and it was therefore considered to be in the horse's interest to ride it quietly. He said LUCKY BO BO travelled satisfactorily with the rear in the early and middle stages. He said he endeavoured to commence making ground after the 700 Metres and continued to do so until after straightening. He said LUCKY BO BO did not quicken as he had hoped, however, did make gradual ground. He said after straightening he continued to ride LUCKY BO BO along hands and heels until the 300 Metres and he then rode his mount out with the whip. He said over the concluding stages LUCKY BO BO closed the race off nicely. WINNING STRATEGY and MEGABUCKS were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of WINNING STRATEGY and MEGABUCKS after the race did not show any significant findings. RIBOT LEGEND and STALLION SUPREME were sent for sampling.
