DREAM HORSE was withdrawn on 25.5.09 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left hind and cut left hind) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter TOP NEWS. As previously advised, DREAM HORSE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again. TOP NEWS was difficult to load. Before being allowed to race again, TOP NEWS will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. On jumping, TOP NEWS and ELITE FORTUNE bumped. Shortly after the start, ELITE FORTUNE, TOP NEWS and SEASON LINKZ lost their positions when crowded for room inside NATIONAL GLORY which on jumping shifted in abruptly. BEAUTIFUL DREAMER was slow to begin, then lost further ground when being steadied away from the heels of FINGERS CROSSED. At the 150 Metres, CLASSIC NAVIGATOR was steadied away from the heels of KINDACROSS. Throughout the race, EXPLODING travelled wide and without cover. TOP NEWS and EXPLODING were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of TOP NEWS and EXPLODING after the race did not show any significant findings. OUR LUCKY BABY and PERFECT STYLE were sent for sampling. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on NATIONAL GLORY at the request of Trainer J Size. The Veterinary Officer said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, NATIONAL GLORY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
