RICE FIELD was withdrawn on 12.6.09 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter LOCAL POWER (S K Sit). Before being allowed to race again, RICE FIELD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. BLUE SKY began awkwardly and lost ground. Approaching the turn at the 800 Metres, ENERGIZED, which was racing tight inside BLUE SKY, got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of DANZULU which steadied away from the heels of BIG WINNER AGAIN as that horse steadied to allow MERIDIAN PRIDE to cross into the lead. GLORY OF INDIA, which was following, was steadied in consequence. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, FOREVER ELATION became unbalanced behind when bumped on the hindquarters by DARPANA which shifted out after being awkwardly placed close to the heels of MERIDIAN PRIDE for some distance. Throughout the race, KING ACRYLIC travelled wide and without cover. BLUE SKY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of BLUE SKY after the race did not show any significant findings. DANZULU, ROCKET POWER and BIG WINNER AGAIN were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that KING ACRYLIC had bled from both nostrils and DANZULU was severely lame in the left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, DANZULU will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
