Shortly after the start, MASTER GUNNER was checked and GOLDEN TREASURE and SPEEDY WARRIOR crowded for room between BILLION and PACKING BUDDY, both of which shifted ground. C K Tong (KING ACRYLIC) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 1500 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of SPEEDY WARRIOR, causing that horse to be checked. C K Tong was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Monday 26 October 2009 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting on Saturday 17 October 2009. Passing the 600 Metres, UPSIDE OF ANGER was steadied away from the heels of GOLDEN TREASURE which was taken out by NEW CHAPTER. At the entrance to the Straight, MASTER GUNNER shifted out and bumped NEW CHAPTER. Throughout the race, PACKING BUDDY travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of PACKING BUDDY after the race did not show any significant findings. FLORAL PICASSO, OCEAN PRINCE and ROYAL PUMPKIN were sent for sampling. The Stewards will interview G Cheyne, the rider of UPSIDE OF ANGER, regarding his instructions in tonight’s race at the Sha Tin racemeeting next Sunday 11 October 2009.
