SUPER IDEAL was withdrawn on 6.10.09 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (blood abnormality). Before being allowed to race again, SUPER IDEAL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. FASTER FASTER was slow to begin. MASTER MASTER, which was fractious in the barriers, began awkwardly. Near the 1300 Metres, RISING WIN was crowded for room inside MASTER MASTER which was taken in by SMART CODE which shifted in slightly when being steadied away from the heels of AIPODER IMAGE which shifted in when barely clear. After this, SMART CODE travelled wide and without cover for the remainder of the race and gave ground in the Straight. Passing the 800 Metres, AIPODER IMAGE (Y T Cheng) steadied the tempo in front. As a result of the tempo slackening at this stage, RISING WIN and TRAVEL LEADER were hampered. RAIN OF THUNDER was also hampered in this incident and as a result was checked away from the heels of MASTER MASTER, shifted out and bumped SMART CODE which became unbalanced. Y T Cheng was severely reprimanded and advised against the practice of unnecessarily steadying the tempo in races. In the early part of the Straight, RAIN OF THUNDER had some difficulty obtaining clear running. A veterinary inspection of SMART CODE after the race did not show any significant findings. MASTER MASTER, AIPODER IMAGE and RAIN OF THUNDER were sent for sampling.
